You don’t need years to find your purpose, clarity can happen in an instant.
After a cancer diagnosis, the areas where my life had been misaligned snapped into place. In a breath, postponing my lifes’ desires felt like a life untapped of it’s potential. So from diagnosis onward, with small steps of self-discovery, I started to choose myself like my life depended on it.
What I found was I had lost myself in my roles I played, a young mom, a product designer, a friend… and I had been looking outside myself to understand who I was. But what I discovered is that knowing myself and what I wanted, that feral inner knowing, was my greatest superpower.
I believe that you, too, have all the answers within you. To recognize what feels right for you, to trust your inner signals instead of second-guessing them, make decisions with more clarity and less pressure and take small, meaningful steps toward the life you actually want can only come from within you. I didn’t beat cancer. I suffocated it with heart and will, and self-love, and compassion. I believed the power of healing. I leaned into feeling scared by nurturing my body. When I got in my head I turned to my journal to write my way out of the dark thoughts and reconnect with my soul. I took the time I needed, slowed down and refocused on myself. Maybe that’s what the lesson was all along.

I was diagnosed at 38 with aggressive breast cancer. I know fear, forced to navigate through intense waves of it during that period. But to be real, the serious hard work started after my cancer-free outcome. The aftermath of my diagnosis was bumpy and crumbled with unwanted labels, traumas and statistics that colored the view of my future. And, the fear of it coming back was debilitating at times. I was at an empasse.
My Story…
But what I discovered was that cancer was my greatest teacher. Experiencing that intense darkness amplified the light. That fear and self-reliance morphed into surrender. I have witnessed what’s possible, and I want that so badly for you. My mission is to empower that light in you, where you untapped potential is realized and to turn your pain into your greatest asset. Finding your authentic self and restoring light to life.
From my diary
Forest fires can be devastating, burning through trees that have been standing for hundreds of years. It’s sad to think about them going up in flames so quickly when it took so much nurturing from Mother Nature for them to grow to that point. But as the fire dies, there’s stillness, and out of the stillness there’s regrowth. Bountiful and strong. I was that forest. Cancer destroyed everything I thought I was, how I viewed the world, and how to live my life. The forest fire was the diagnosis. The stillness was those first few months after treatment, facing the unknown. And the regrowth of my spirit was veracious. It was a rebirth.
